ecco

This RV concept flips open — multi-purpose — like, according to the Swiss designers, a “Swiss army knife.”

The designers had space in mind as a concept.

To enter, a long stairway opens in the back. It folds out of the ceiling.

Driving, the vehicle is 15 feet long. It has round windows on both sides. The windscreen in front is large. It is said to have less wind-resistance than other RVs.

When it flips open, it has a top deck and the seats fold down. It also has a kitchen, lounge and bathroom. It can sleep a family of 5.

Its an electric car charged by solar panels on the roof. The battery life from a full charge is around 8 hours driving on the highway (it reaches a top speed of 90 mph).

What were the inspirations? Volkswagon camper vans and the Airstream RV.

It aims to be an icon. Would you drive it? What do you think of both the use-factor and the design?
