The most common method of water therapy as made popular in Japan is to drink four glasses of water (4×160 ml) in the morning just after waking up. Then wait for 45 minutes before taking anything else so the water can flush out the toxins and metabolic wastes in your body. You may eat and drink normally after 45 minutes. After breakfast, lunch, and dinner, don’t take anything after 2 hours so as not to dilute valuable nutrients from the food and it is recommended to drink warm water because cold water can actually harden the oil in consumed foods and creates a fat deposit in the intestine.

The amount of water intake needed for your body may depend on your food intake, health condition, age or the climate. But there is no side effect in drinking too much or over consumption of water, though the stomach may feel an unpleasant twinge when the body is not used to large amount of intake.
