She Pours Water Into A Bowl Of Almonds. Who Knew This Recipe Was So Easy?
Wonderfully, the finely flavored and nifty almond is available throughout the year in many parts of the globe. It is one of our favorite add-ons to tasty dishes and it is also a preferred crunchy topping for desserts, cakes and smoothie bowls. It is even made more exciting as you can make it into milk! Lactose intolerant and vegans can delight with it for their dishes and beverages.
Of course, it is more convenient to purchase a cartoon of almond milk and pour to your recipes but it’s costly and it has preservatives on it. Although raw almonds are not that low-priced, it feels rewarding to make your own almond milk.
Pretty sure, once you have done it, you will have a newfound love for DIY milk. Others have been making it for years and some for months, and probably you have heard and read their exclamation-filled words about its fantastic creaminess, soft milky flavor, and benefit over store-bought ones. Then let your friends taste a glass of it and become proud of your newfound love of this delightful dairy-free milk.
Instructions:
1.Soak one cup of raw whole almonds overnight.
2.Remove the nuts that float on top as they have gone rancid.
3.Drain and thoroughly rinse the soaked almond nuts.
4.Put them in a blender. Add water using the proportion of 1 cup of nuts into 2 cups of water. Add more water if you want it be a little runny.
5.Blend the nuts at the highest speed for around 2 minutes or until it is pureed.
6.Strain the almonds.
7.Press with a little force to push all the almond milk from the almond meal using cheesecloth.
8. If you want it be as natural and a little bland, don’t add any sweeteners. Otherwise, you can add coco sugar, agave or maple syrup. The measurement of the sweeteners depends on your taste.
9.Refrigerate it.
As with any food or beverage canning, make sure that you sterilize the bottle or any container where you will store your milk.
The process above is very easy and you can experiment adding cinnamon to produce a cinnamon flavoured almond milk or cocoa to enjoy a chocolate flavor. There is no end to your treat as you can make mocha-flavored, coffee-flavored or nutmeg-flavored almond milk.
