RV Awning Maintenance – Everything You Need To Know

RV Awning Maintenance – Everything You Need To Know

Your RV canopy perhaps isn’t one of your main concerns while you’re considering precautionary upkeep on your RV. Actually, awnings are not really thought about that seriously as compared to other parts of any RV.

Nonetheless, it is still important to think of the amount that you will be spending in case you need to replace an RV awning. You might be a bit more attentive in showing it the maintenance care it could use.

Be cautious when it is mistreated or ignored — You might end up shouldering the burden of a costly replacement in the next few years.

Take a closer look these important points to take note about RV awning maintenance.

  1. Never Roll in a Wet Awning

Every time you store your awning, make sure that it is dry. If you roll it up wet, then moisture will accumulate. Once moisture accumulates and it remains on the fabric, gradually mildew will destroy the fabric.

One important point that you need to keep in mind is to let it be air dried before packing and storing. High moisture will increase the time it takes for your awning to totally dry.

  1. Distinguish the Kind of Awning on Your RV

Vinyl and acrylic are usually the two types of materials for awnings.  The way you should clean and wash your RV’s awning relies on the kind of material. For both vinyl and acrylic, use a water hose to remove the dirt in your awning. Less scrubbing will work better.  Especially for acrylic type of awning, use can make use of a firm brush, water, and soap.

  1. Defend Your RV Awning from the Harmful Effects of UV Radiation

Damaging ultraviolet rays from the sun will also take their toll on your awning. It is like exposing a banner made of tarpaulin under the sun. What happens after a few months? Seriously, it has become thinner until it is no longer functional.

Hence, if you are going to purchase a new one, consider taking a final covering of elastic aluminum which will enclose the awning material it is kept in storage. This will help in reducing the damage that can be struck by the sun’s UV rays.

  1. Clean Your RV Awning Regularly and With Suitable Goods

There are industrial cleaning products that are endorsed to keep your awning fabric clean. Mild detergent is suitable for cleaning it.

  1. Don’t Allow the Wind Take Your Awning for a Ride

During windy conditions, take proper precautions. Minimize the flapping to prolong the life of the awning fabric.

  1. Use An Awning Preservative Set

Make use of a preservative set to extend the life of your awning. You can purchase this in the market.

  1. You Drain Your Awning of Water

Continuously set your awning so that one corner is immersed. Just take good care that the whole awning is not loose from the RV.

  1. Always Lock the Rewind Tool

Always pay attention that when you store your awning for any travel, see to it that you set the rewind mechanism so that the awning cannot be trundled out. You can make use an awning bolt to guarantee that yours is safe.

Take these tips above with you as you maintain your RV’s awning.

Always remember this cliché, an ounce of prevention is better than a pound of cure.

(approximately 30 cookies)

Ingredients

1 cup unsalted butter at room temperature

1 cup refined sugar

3/4 cup light brown sugar

1 cup chunky peanut butter

3 cups all-purpose flour

1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla extract

1 teaspoon baking soda

1 teaspoon baking powder

1/2 teaspoon salt

1/3 cup granulated sugar (this will be used for coating)

Procedure:

1.Preheat your oven to 350º F
2.Cream the butter and sugar in a large bowl. Use a stand mixer for this step. Cream the two ingredients until smooth or until you arrive at a desired consistency.
3.Add the peanut butter and vanilla. Mix them thoroughly.
4.In a separate large bowl, prepare dry ingredients. Sift the flour, baking powder and baking soda.
5.Pour the wet ingredients slowly into the dry ingredients. The dough is ready for baking if it’s sticky and a little bit thick.
6.Store the dough by covering it in your fridge for 2 to 4 hours.
7.After 2 to 4 hours, the dough is ready for baking. Form the dough into a cookie shape and coat them with sugar.
8.Then put them on a tray with a parchment paper on it.
9.To make your cookies more appealing,  press the points of a fork into the cookies to form a lattice shape on top.
10.Bake the cookies for about 10 minutes or until they turn brown.

Take note of this important step; allow the cookies to cool before taking them out on the baking tray. If you force them while they are still very hot, they will break and you will lose their shape.

Natural Cancer Killer 10,000 X Stronger Than Chemo

Natural Cancer Killer 10,000 Stronger Than Chemo

Can soursop fruit really cure cancer? Can this miraculous prickly green fruit provide the answer to a terminal illness like cancer?

Soursop is a tree native to the tropical regions. It has been found that it has a strong healing power which can kill cancer cells up to 10,000 times batter than the best chemotherapy pills. Also, it has no damaging terrible side effects unlike other prescribed drugs out there. Graviola has cytotoxic compounds that are able to kill cancer cells while healthy cells are undamaged.

Research was conducted, and over a quarter of a century ago a study was executed on the seeds of the soursop fruit. This is the period when it was proven that it has an incredible cancer-fighting property. The people who were around at that time were leaning towards traditional medicine and they reacted with complete doubt.

From the time when the 1996 study was done, some research on Graviola was carried out. In 1999, a cell study was performed that it has an anti-prostate cancer and breast cancer activity. In 2002, another cell study indicated that Graviola displayed an anti-hepatoma (liver cancer) activity. With all the other studies performed, nothing is as favorable as the first study in 1996.

A statement from a researcher says, “A a 5-wk dietary treatment of GFE (200 mg/kg diet) significantly reduced the protein expression of EGFR, p-EGFR, and p-ERK in MDA-MB-468 [breast cancer] tumors by 56%, 54%, and 32.5%, respectively. Overall, dietary GFE inhibited tumor growth, as measured by wet weight, by 32% (P < 0.01).”

While study authors say:

“These data showed that dietary GFE induced significant growth inhibition of MDA-MB-468 cells in vitro and in vivo through a mechanism involving the EGFR/ERK signaling pathway, suggesting that GFE may have a protective effect for women against EGFR-overexpressing BC [breast cancer].”

Research says that with extracts from this incredible fruit tree, people can now deal with cancer safely and effectively!  This all-natural treatment will not cause any discomfort like nausea, weight or hair loss. Patients can now be secured of immune system protection and will not even have to endure deadly infections. Also, they will be healthier all throughout their treatment. Their energy can be boosted and can now experience a better outlook in life.

GM Futurliner!

GM Futurliners

The GM Futurliners were a group of custom vehicles, styled in the 1940s by Harley Earl for General Motors, and integral to the company’s Parade of Progress — a North American traveling exhibition promoting future cars and technologies. Having earlier used eight custom Streamliners from 1936-1940, GM sponsored the Parade of Progress and the Futurliners from 1940 to 1941 and again from 1953 to 1956.

The convoy of a dozen “Red Elephants” as they were nicknamed and 30-plus other vehicles staffed by about 60, trundled across the continent for the next three years presenting shows, but the tour’s popularity was waning and TV was fast usurping its promotional role.

At 33 feet long, 8 feet wide, more than 11 feet tall, and weighing more than 12 tons, each Futurliner featured heavily stylized Art deco bodywork, deep red side and white roof paint, large articulated chrome side panels, a military-grade 302-cu.in. GMC straight-six gasoline engine and automatic transmission, whitewall tires and a prominent, high-mounted, centrally located driver command position with a panoramic windshield.

12 Futurliners were manufactured, with nine still known to exist as of 2007. In 2014, Futurliner #10 was nominated for inclusion in the National Historic Vehicle Register.[3]

Wood Bench Design for Your Patio!

Wood Bench Design for Your Patio!

What do you think of this unstained bench and flower pot made entirely of 2X4’s. Anyone could put this together with some screws, a screwdriver and some glue. Of course, you also need a saw, a ruler and a pencil to make the pieces you can so easily assemble.

This bench looks like it would be good in the heat.

The bench/flower pot is cool, I have lots of ideas for wood, I have been thinking of a food and water station for large breed dogs and the water bowl connected to a drain with a toilet fill valve so when his water is needing to be freshened it’s a quick flush viola fresh clean water!
