What are the best plants for cleaner air in the home 2
Plants naturally cleanse the air as part of the food creation process. They take in carbon dioxide and convert it onto pure oxygen, thus sustaining themselves.
You’ll notice that a lot of these plants are fern-like plants with long sharp leaves. Does anyone know why this is? If you know, please send us an email. I’d be very curious, and I’d publish a post about it.
Do you own pets? If you do, you will need to be extremely careful, as there are many plants that are toxic to them. Some of these include Aloe, the Indian Rubber Plant, Red Palm Lily, and the Hardy Baby Tears plant. Keep in mind this is just a small sample, and there are many more toxic plants. Consult a vet about this to check up on the plants you already have. You can also go on the internet to the ASPCA website, where you can find an exhaustive list. If you would rather play it safe rather than sorry then you can use an air purifier instead of a plant. Check out this list on the Best air purifier for pets and pick one that works best for you.
Another option that you have, if you really enjoy owning and taking care of these plants, is to hang them on the wall or in an enclosed space. This way your pet won’t be able to reach them and you’ll still be able to enjoy them without any worries. .
Having a little knowledge can go a long way in terms of taking care of the quality of your indoor air, and your pets as well.

Dr. Seuss Style Fruit Snacks
Helping kids learn to read is probably one of the greatest things you can do for them at an early age. And at an even earlier age, reading to them is also good, but it has recently been published (by a scientific research team) that mindlessly babbling is better for young kids than reading to them — which means talking to them is good, not that reading to them is bad! Reading is good for them too.
Do you think your kids would like to come into the kitchen to make these Dr. Seuss Hats?
All you need is lunch fruit: Strawberries, banana and apple.
You just slice them up and stack them. The apple is the brim of the hat.

Talcum powder is Linked to Ovarian Cancer
Why is Talcum powder on the radar?
Lung damage risks, apparently. Maybe lung cancer and ovarian cancer risks.
Why are people saying Talcum powder might cause cancer?
Reportedly, 75 percent of ovarian tumors studied by researchers in 1971 had talc particles. In another study, ovarian cancer was found to perhaps be related to a 30-60 percent increased risk when talc was used in the genital area. There have been various studies conducted since this came about and scientists are still testing to come to a concision. Here’s an article which discusses in greater detail and should answer any question you may have regarding Talcum Powered. Article Ref – Talcum Powder and Cancer · A MedTruth Guide.
18 Natural Sleep Aids to Get Better Sleep
If you could get a better nights rest by changing your lifestyle, would you?
Do you want to be reliant on sleep drugs? I think no one does. And you don’t have to be, especially with options such as drinking herbal teas, trying death bubba strain or even simply changing your mattress. Either way, you may not have to rely on the use of drugs to help you get a better night’s sleep.
Here are 18 tips. These have been recommended to try for those trying to get a better set of sleep:
Drink Tart Cherry Juice. Half a cup to 1 cup. Its a natural sleep aid, full of tryptophan, which is something in many of the sleeping pills people buy — it converts to melatonin and tells the body to go to sleep (for a certain amount of time, then it stops being effective).
Improve the Feng Shui. Make your bed to be in a place that makes it easier to sleep. You can open up access to your bed on all sides, open windows, get fresh air, make it so you can see the door, keep it neat and clean.
Valerian. It has a calming effect through GABA. You can drink this as tea as well as pills.
Make Your Bedroom Your Bedroom. Don’t have a bunch of things there that will keep you from sleep (computer screens, tv, work, cell phone, tablet — these can bring stress and distraction.)
Acupuncture. Its supposed to balance things in your body.
Stick to a Schedule, Establish a Ritual, and Keep a Diary, Establish a calming, preparing-for-sleep ritual and follow through on it. This won’t be effective if it is sporadic. Maybe take warm baths, do some exercise, sip something or meditate, or read the Bible.
Exercise. You’ll have more energy and sleep better, both. Don’t do strenuous workouts before bed though, it is advised.
Get More Melatonin. From Cherries and bananas, for example.
Make a Lavender Sleep Sachet. Aromatherapy. Scents have an effect on us that is not understood, but we know it is powerful. Studies point to the ability of lavender and other scents, presumably, to help with drowsiness.
Drink a Cup of Chamomile. A lot of people do this to sleep.
Carbs. You need carbs for Tryptophan to have any effect on sleepiness (to cross the blood-brain barrier). Cereal or bread are examples.
Magnesium. Plays a role in GABA reception.
Lemon Balm. A herbal cure, its supposed to lift mood and promote relaxation and calmness.
Saint John’s Wort. Raises overall serotonin in the brain.
Hops. Put a sachet under your pillow (you can add lavender too).
Make Some Noise. Some people need some noise to sleep. It also drowns out other noises.
Warm Milk. 30 minutes before bed. It has tryptophan like chemicals, and is warm and soothing. Am I wrong to think there is a memory factor in this?
Cozy Up with Catnip. It has a sedative effect on people.
If your mattress is quite old, it may be worth considering buying the best mattress you can afford. It is known that sleeping on a better mattress can aid sleep. However, I would try these more natural tips first as this is a more expensive route! If you think having a better mattress would benefit your sleeping, but you’re worried about the cost, you should take a look at some discounts and coupons. You can often find discounts on Zinus Mattress which makes them cheaper to buy. If you shop around, you’re bound to find a good deal.

High dose vitamin C Can it kill cancer cells
It has been suggested — and advised, but not by all — that Vitamin C can, if administered in high doses, treat cancer. Is this true?
It was thought that the high doses might be toxic to cancer cells, and some early studies lent promise to the idea. But later studies showed that the earlier ones were flawed.
The later studies, which were more “scientific,” showed no treatment benefit from high doses of Vitamin C.
Did that stop some people from advising Vitamin C as a treatment? No, some alternative practicioners still recommend the treatment.
But another twist: It has been found that intravenous injections of Vitamin C seem to effect the body differently from oral ingestion. A new round of interest has been raised into Vitamin C as cancer treatment.
There is no evidence that Vitamin C can cure cancer. But some researchers are interested in the idea that it might help with the effectiveness of other cancer treatments. Radiation therapy and chemo are among the treatments that might be aided by Vitamin C.
But, unfortunately, it is premature to say one way or the other about this. But at least you know where we’re at.

The Time Machine – Amazing Classic Bus Conversion
Well, this little number made it to the Quartzsite RV show a while ago and caught the attention of a few people.
So, the origins of this red and white smooth-lined balloon?
It was manufacturers in 1946 in Loudnville, Ohio as a public transportation bus. The model is called a “Flxible” [sic]. During its transportation working days, it brought Americans and others all around the country long distance. One of the notable features of the design was a possible lack of headroom.
When people convert Flxibles, they often lower the floor. That’s so they can get around inside a lot more comfortably.
The decor is that of a late-40’s — early 50’s diner, and it has a jukebox beside an authentic dining room table, black and white tiled floor, and art-deco ornamentation.

They Converted a Bus Into a Rental Unit
We all know that renting out property is a great idea, especially if you know what is a good cap rate, but have you ever thought buying a bus would make a good rental investment… as a sleeping unit?
This one sits in a green garden with trees and flowers all around, and is decorated with light-toned decor of wood and cloth.
The floor is wood, as are parts of the consoles and furniture. The worktops are oak and the boarding is painted pine. It has a fridge and a gas cooker.
It has a wood stove as well, set up on a flagstone. For soft furniture, it has a double bed and an L-shaped sofa seat (which can fold out into another bed).
Electricity comes partly from solar panels that are mounted to the roof. There are lights and an electric socket in the bus.
The bus is beside a firepit so you can cook and camp out. And a few steps away is a wooden bath house with a flush toilet and roll-top bath/shower. Here, another woodburner has been installed for cold nights.
The room comes with tealights.

Tentsile Multi-story Tree Tent
Just a few months after releasing its smallest, lightest, and most affordable tree tent so far, British firm Tentsile is back with another off-ground tent design. The Vista is likened by Tentsile to a portable treehouse and offers more flexibility than the firm’s previous tents, thanks to a removable roof and an ability to accommodate multiple stories.

The three-man (or two adults and two kids) Vista is based on Tentsile’s Stingray model, and sports the same basic hammock/tent hybrid design as Tentsile’s other products. It’s suspended around 1.2 m (4 ft) off the ground, and is anchored to three nearby trees using a like number of ratchets and straps. Access is gained via the floor hatch in the center or the side entrances.

Judging from the photos, you’d probably only want to use this thing when the weather is particularly nice, and Tentsile states that it can’t be fully sealed shut. On the plus side, Vista’s removable roof allows one to sit back and enjoy the view. In addition, multiple floors can also be purchased at extra cost that allow a kind of multi-story off-ground camping setup.
Between deployment, the tent folds up into a bag measuring 59 x 25 x 25 cm (23 x 10 x 10 in), and weighs 9 kg (19 lb).
The Vista is available now in green, orange, camo, or dark grey, and will set you back US$595, plus shipping.
