Helping kids learn to read is probably one of the greatest things you can do for them at an early age. And at an even earlier age, reading to them is also good, but it has recently been published (by a scientific research team) that mindlessly babbling is better for young kids than reading to them — which means talking to them is good, not that reading to them is bad! Reading is good for them too.
