Jim told us some of the specs of this big truck:

“The truck is a 2014 Kenworth T800. It’s powered by a Cummins 550 with an 18 speed auto shift and 355 rears. It’s a factory stretch at 349 wheel base.”

And about that big sleeper and its interior:

“The sleeper is a 190 inch ARI Custom Legacy. The interior has all ceramic tile floors, from the cab through the sleeper. The sleeper is a true home away from home.

“It has roving satellite tv, 2 burner stove, microwave / convection oven, refrigerator / freezer combo, fire place, central heat and A/C, ceiling fan and mirrored ceiling. And of course shower and toilet combo. We pull a 48 foot step deck all over the country.”

Wait a minute … Did you say “fire place?”

Girly Shrug (free pattern)

This “sassy little” crochet shrug is something you don’t see people wearing every day. You could see how light these would be to carry around though. You could use them with other clothes you already own, shirts and dresses both, to add variety. It will also cover up a little more if you want to go from a more relaxed to a more reserved setting. Interesting crochet project idea.

This one comes from the handiwork of crafter Sarah at Ball Hank n Skein. Actually I think we’ve featured her work before as well. She says this crochet shrug is “Great for evening wear, weddings, date nights, and more.”

The project will take about 2 hours or less, according to the pattern.

Skill level: easy

The pattern is for various sizes of bust, from 32 to 40.

Required:

Yarn, hook (H — 5mm)

How this crochet project is made:

600 Horsepower Motor Coach Has Some Great Features

This “ultra line” luxury motorcoach shows some of the features Powerhouse Coach is building with these days. Thought this would be interesting for a lot of you.

In line with part of the philosophy behind these custom motorhome builders — they’re “you tell us what you want and we’ll build it” theme that runs through some of the interesting things that you might see about them, is their rear trailer towing deck.

This is a neat feature. The RV unit is no longer limited to towing from the bumper with this custom piece of manufacturing. In the rear of the vehicle, there is a slide out piece — a toughly fabricated towing apparatus.

In their photo (visit their website at the link below), they have it set up for a goose neck trailer, but you can probably guess that they can modify this.

In case you’re wondering about this custom coach (pictured above), it’s in the “ultra line” of the company. These RVs all have 3 slides, and when you have two slides across from each other, you can double your interior space when the slide outs are out.

The paint job you see in that photo is a “partial” full body paint with a stripe package upgrade.

This one is built onto a Volvo 770 chassis class 8 tractor. It has an ISX and auto shift.

Another neat feature: their slide out BBQ grill (pictured beside their fold out staircase).

Toterhome

This big toterhome conversion was spotted on the Trucks Daily dealers site, and it caught our eye. Really kind of liking this site because it’s promoting some toterhomes at a lower price. We’ll feature lots of highest-end luxury motor coaches as well, but it’s nice to also show some toter homes that come in around or under the $100,000 mark.

Like this one. It was listed at $100,000 exactly. (UPDATE: this truck was sold, just like the other one we featured that was listed for $95,000).

Specs of this toter home:

Chassis: 1997 Kenworth
Engine: Cat
Horsepower: 475
Transmission: 10-speed
Converted: the conversion was done in 2009, and cost $90,000.
Condition: “Like new”

Luxury Motor Coach

This giant luxury motor coach showed up as a used truck for sale and caught our eye with its obvious horsepower and multiple RV slide outs. This is a 2016 model motorhome, so it has the latest.

We saw it on the North Trail RV, those Florida-based dealers who have a lot else besides high-level new motorhomes like this one, and who put together a pretty nice RV website, really. I’ve seen a few, and they do their images and everything nicely.

Unfortunately, there isn’t much of the specs of this luxury motor coach, but of what we know from the RV dealers “quick specs”:

It’s a Renegade Lonestar 4232RF (XI). Class C motor home. This luxury motor coach interior is pretty elaborate — that’s one thing that stands out from the photos. The seats in it might have more functions than my own whole vehicle (maybe not, but you get the idea). The interior looks like it has more lights than more exteriors of highway tractors.

The motor home is located in Ft. Myers. And that’s it for this one. But, like I said, they do provide high quality images of their RVs. This one had a starting price (I say starting because it had a strike through on it) of $554,591.

If you’re looking for a large motorhome or toter home, this style might be for you. It certainly gets a lot of attention to have a big conventional truck in the front, although the flat-front diesel pushers are still more popular it seems to be. Visit North Trail RV and see what they have available today (if this one has sold already) (click here).

Toterhome Upgrade in a Day

This is the toterhome of the Wolf Racing Team, out of Moorefield, West Virginia, and they recently — after swearing off doing anything like the huge task carried out when they first built their toterhome — upgraded their toterhome. It only took an afternoon this time, though.

The reason for going back to the task: the team wrote, was that they didn’t like being passed. Didn’t like it on the track and didn’t like it on the highway getting to the track. And this upgrade was done about three years after the initial build, so maybe enough time had passed since their team members were uttering “never again.”

So they did this upgrade and added, as they say, a few hundred horsepower to their toterhome.

In an afternoon. They wanted to keep the work they had already done in 2010, so they didn’t start all over. They just lifted the living quarters box off the old truck and placed it on the newer one.

Luckily for those interested in things like motor home conversions and upgrades, they posted photos.

Custom Toterhome

This bright red toterhome — formerly used in racing — came across our eyes and we decided to do a write up on it. It’s a truck and trailer that belongs to a fellow who decided to sell the unit due to retiring from the family racing business.

Due to the nature of the truck sale, he said the truck also came with a lot of racing equipment and parts.

It’s a Freightliner chassis, but even though the fellow did list a lot of the features of the truck, he didn’t mention the truck model.

Truck specs:

Engine: Detroit C60
Transmission: Eaton M-10
Sleeps: 6 (the sleepers are accomodated in 2 bunks, 1 over the cab and a couch)
5500 Onan generator
Wheels: Aluminum Alcoa

Lots of toterhome features, like a full bathroom and shower, good kitchen set-up, lots of cabinets, exterior storage compartments,

As you can see, it also has a 42 foot fifth wheel trailer, and the trailer is done up like a shop.

He didn’t sound like he was in any rush to sell, but was considering offers on this fairly luxury motor coach toterhome. Visit B Doocy (click here).

Giant Toterhome

This big white toterhome came up for sale (EDIT: and has now been sold, but it’s still a good example of a toterhome you can buy used for under $100,000) a while ago on Trucks Daily’s trucks for sale section.

It’s a 1995 Kenworth T600 chassis.

The toter home is 48 feet long, and it’s powered by a Class A diesel engine.

This truck has been enjoyed, it seems. It had 900,000 KMs on it when it came up for sale.

This particular toterhome isn’t what you’d call “luxury”, like a lot of the luxury motor coaches we feature on here, but it is a good example of a big, powerful toterhome that was being offered for under $100,000. It was priced at $95,000 by the seller, and it sold (obviously, I don’t know the final sale price).

475 horsepower Cat engine (the engine had 300,000 miles on it)
Cruise control
Aluminum alloy wheels

The interior had all the usual living features and was set up to sleep 4 people. On the outside, they had a 20 by 40 foot awning, tool boxes, lounge area, and full lighting.
