So here’s the problem: Your dog can’t go down your wooden stairs. Don’t worry there are plenty of stairs with carpets at Pear Stairs. But if you are sticking to wood then there is still a solution to help your dog.
The dog’s nails are getting long and your other dog is attacking her while she goes down the stairs. She has no going-down-the-stairs confidence. You have to carry her down the stairs.
Solution: Rubber spray adhesive, neoprene, carpet.
Sponge Neoprene, 1/8th an inch thick–to go between the carpet layer and the floor to allow the carpet to stick to the wood floor, not slide, and not damage the wood floor. $20 a roll, needed 2 rolls for the 16 steps. Carpet free from the basement. Glue everything together — put one pad on each stair tread — and you’ve got it. Your pup can now climb the stairs easily, and hopefully his or her improved ability to manage his or her environment will lead to improved self confidence and mental health.
