Twitter is for speed. How can you get a message out faster than Twitter?
It’s relatively simple to build a following of a few thousand on Twitter. Have you heard of #followback?
Basically, all you have to do to get a few thousand Twitter followers is to go to the search box and enter terms like “#followback” and retweet and follow the people who are providing this service. The quality of the followers won’t be the highest, but good things are usually difficult, not easy! However, you will be able to build a base pretty simply to start your community, marketing venture, advertising enterprise, whatever you want to do on social media.

2 WARNINGS:
Don’t follow more than around 100 people per day on Twitter. You might want to wait 24 hours to add your first bunch anyway. Your account will be disabled because this violates what Twitter’s rules are. Since Twitter provides a very valuable service and does it pretty well (considering all the things they have to balance), there should be no reason to balk at their simple rules.
WARNING #2:
You might see below not too many people have commented to add their accounts, so you may think “Well, why should I add mine? No one will see it.” That is the opposite of the truth. The people who get their names down first, so long as they do a good job of their description, will get the most upvotes and over time will have the best chance to get the most followers!
