Gold Streak Custom: Star Streak II

Star Streak II

You won’t see this anywhere else! It’s called the Star Streak II. There were just two made.

This one sits in a museum. Unfortunately, I’m sure, for the RV. What RV would want to be cooped up in a museum. No Recreational Vehicling!

It was built in 1988 using a 1976 Cadillac and a 1976 455 cubic inch Oldsmobile Toronado V-8.

The 455 was a larger big-block introduced for 1968 as the Rocket 455 at 455 cu in (7.5 L) to replace the 425s.

Output ranged from 275 to 400 hp (199 to 298 kW).

It’s front wheel drive and fits in a standard garage!

Its a custom made aluminum-bodied motor home built by Paul Jones of Cape Coral, Florida.

At 84 inches high, the outrageously styled RV was designed to fit in a standard garage yet contain all the creature comforts of a larger, more cumbersome motor home.

The floor is recessed since it’s front wheel drive, so standing is no problem.

Very cool! How do you top that?

There’s also a type of weapon called a Starstreak–Is this RV named after a weapon?

Why Aren’t You Making Stuff Out of Concrete?

Why Aren't You Making Stuff Out of Concrete

Have you ever worked with concrete? You probably know it is a very versatile material. It can’t be used to make long extensions or flexed much — it is not strong that way. But it can be used to put weight on top of.

It is also inexpensive and can be shaped into almost any arrangement.

Mostly it is used as a utilitarian material, but it can also be used for furniture, counters, vases, bowls, sconces, and other objects.

What you need is cement and water. That’s all. The water turns the cement powder into a soupy fluid, which turns into solid hard cement when it dries (over the course of a few hours to a day or so, but it continues to harden for a very long time).

The texture of concrete can be modified greatly. You can pour straight concrete and get a smooth, brittle, slate-like piece. You can add rough sand, fine sand, colored sand, white or black sand. You can add dye or other coloring. You can add gravel or other larger material.

When it’s finished, you can sand it, polish it, cut into it.

New diet recommendations ignore cholesterol, focus on sugar

New diet recommendations ignore cholesterol, focus on sugar

A breakthrough in diet requirements of Americans was released recently in a 570 page report. This report contains recommendations about what to eat and what not to eat. It reiterates the importance of eating the basic healthy food choices, but what is surprising is that they no longer think cholesterol is bad for you, although you still need to cut back on sugar.

Experts believe that the staple foods should be comprised of fruits, vegetables, seafood, legumes and nuts as well as whole grains. It is also healthy to eat non-fat or low-fat dairy and cut back on refined grains, added sugar and red meat, including processed meat. This may all seem like the usual diet recommendations; however, they included in the report that a moderate amount of caffeine is good for you.

According to the report that the committee submitted, dietary cholesterol has no direct effect on heart diseases. Therefore the American diet can be changed somewhat. An average American can now consume a generous amount of dietary-cholesterol without fear of hurting one’s health. All of these updates that are made to nutritional rules and regulations can be so confusing, that it’s tempting to simply rely on a company like blue apron to deliver pre-made meals to your door. They take the hassle out of making sure you tick all the boxes as they do it for you, but it’s a good idea to try and keep one eye on developments so that you’re not completely unaware of them.

Furthermore, coffee-lovers can now enjoy their coffee without feeling guilty about it because according to them, drinking as much as five cups of coffee a day is actually good for your health. However, adding sugar, rich cream or fatty milk though is still definitely not recommended.

According to recent statistics there are about 155 million overweight or obese Americans and 117 million of them are suffering from preventable chronic illnesses. This is due in fact to their dietary consumption of unbalanced food groups. The report recently submitted by the committee has stipulated revisions of the dietary requirement of Americans.

They said that a diet of plant-based and animal-based food contributes to a more favorable outcome for the environment not only for the individual; it will reduce the green-house effect as well as enhance the quality of land and water. It also promises high-sustainability in the coming years.

Following this form of diet will also renew a perspective of healthy living for most Americans and future generations to come. It has been established that Americans consume about 22 to 33 teaspoons of sugar a day; way over the recommended amount of 12 teaspoons per day. This is mostly in the form of sugar added in beverages. Now the government is thinking of ways to promote awareness especially for the younger generations that water is healthy. Beverages which are loaded with added sugar such as juices, soda and energy drinks are very attractive to children and adolescents. It is quickly becoming a concern for the younger and older generation who find themselves becoming addicted to sugar. This type of addiction could cause health problems, such as significant weight gain, heart disease, and diabetes, as well as dental issues, such as cavities, plaque, and other issues. Having proper dental care as recommended by someone similar to this Dentist in Land O’ Lakes could be helpful to ensure that those who frequently come in contact with sugar can prevent long-lasting dental problems.

Time and again, dietary trends have come and go but the fact remains that America still has the most number of overweight individuals. These new recommendations which are yet to be approved and released will change the perspective of diet and healthy eating. You don’t need to get rid of some foods and stick to a rigid food combination to lose weight; none of this has proven to be effective. According to the 2015 Dietary Guidelines Advisory Committee (DGAC), there are different ways you can achieve a healthy dietary pattern. One’s diet should fit not only his food choice but also his lifestyle and needs.

What You Can Tell by Looking at Her Leg

What You Can Tell by Looking at Her Leg

People whose expertise is in dating and body language like Katia Loisel says that legs and feet are one of the last body parts that we consciously control where it gives us invaluable information about what someone is really thinking, their attitude and what they feel. She is the author of How To Get The Man You Want, How To Get The Woman You Want.

People’s methods of standing expresses how open they are to new experiences, as the Center for Nonverbal Studies reported. This is so true because in some cases especially in women when they are attracted to someone, they are sending out some signals giving the green or red light to the person who catches their attention.

For those men who want to know if a woman is giving you the go-ahead signal, here are some tips from the women’s lower half.

If her stance is:

Feet facing you

It tells you that she likes you. So, you should pay attention to where her toes are pointing, to the guy next to you or on to the next group or to the exit.

Legs apart with weight on one foot

It indicates her overall personality where it shows her eagerness to welcome new experiences. This kind of stance makes a woman look prettier. Indeed, most girls know this and do this stance with a purpose.

Pigeon-toed

If a girl’s knees and feet are turned in, it is a sign that she is a loner or an egoist type. Though there are people who are naturally pigeon-toed we must be very observant. As an additional hint, if she limits her eye contact or closed body language such as crossed arms, it’s better to assume that it is a red flag or a “No” sign.

Feet turned at 45 degree angle

A girl’s way of standing not only shows whose she’s interested at but also whether she wants others to join into the conversation. Standing with both feet directly facing the person she’s talking to indicates that she’s giving her full attention to him//her but with one foot facing the person and the other pointing outward shows that she’s looking for others to join in.

It was considered as the “world’s hottest pepper” Guinness record between 1994 and 2006, and has been selectively bred to produce hotter, heavier fruit. It was reported that 1 gram of this pepper can cause detectable heat in 1,272 pounds of sauce.

Brown Healthier Than Whites? Egg Controversy Answers

Brown Healthier Than Whites? Egg Controversy Answers

Have you ever been curious if there are any differences between brown and white eggs? Lots of people say that brown eggs are better than white eggs in terms of taste and nutritional content. So, if you try to look at their external appearance, we can say that they differ in color because brown eggs are brown and white eggs are white. Seriously, they are the same on the inside even in their nutrient content. They also have the same shell thickness; however, it’s just that young chickens lay eggs with shells that are usually harder than older chickens’ eggs, but this is true for both white and brown egg layers.

In reality, brown eggs cost more than white eggs because the hens that lay them ate more compared to the hens that lay white eggs. White eggs are simply more cost-effective than brown eggs. As an observation, white eggs are most often laid by white or light colored hens with white ear lobes, while brown eggs are most often laid by red-feathered or brown/dark-feathered chickens with red ear lobes. So, the ear lobe serves as the indicator and not the feathers. There was a saying that brown eggs tastes better than that of white eggs but the truth is that white egg / brown egg taste difference is just a myth. As long as there were people that keep on buying the more expensive eggs and are willing to pay high prices when you factor in the cost of the extra feed, farmers will keep raising chickens that lay them. Hence, the quality of an egg depend on how they are being raised and produced.

To summarize it, even if there are small ways the composition and taste of chicken eggs can be influenced, the color of the egg shell isn’t one of them.
