Hello friends! Fawn Leach here with EL’S Baby Crochet. I wanted to share a quick little crochet story. When I first started to crochet almost three years ago I had just recently had a baby a few months prior and wanted to make her and my older daughter some hats and ear warmers.

Soon after learning to crochet I had some friends and family asking to buy my ear warmers. In my search for patterns I came across the Easiest Headwrap Ever.

This free pattern from Frayed Knot is just as the name suggests easy. I loved making them and everybody seemed to love wearing them. Fast forward a couple years and some major growth in my crochet world and I came across this absolutely adorable pattern for fingerless gloves titled The Ridgeline Gloves. I tell you, I could not make these things fast enough and had more than enough orders to keep me busy well into the winter season.

It wasn’t until I had already purchased the pattern and was looking through my Ravelry Library that I realized that the designer for the Easiest Headwrap Ever and the Ridgeline Gloves was one in the same. And to make things even better I had three more Frayed Knot patterns in my library, including the 15min Coffee Sleeve, which is my go to pattern for a quick and easy gift.

My daughter gave these cute coffee sleeves with a gift card to a local coffee shop to all of her teachers. They were a big hit. I don’t think it is a coincidence that I ended up with so many Frayed Knot patterns. They are gorgeous and have wonderful texture.

Hello friends, Fawn Leach here with EL’S Baby Crochet. I recently finished this beautiful Chevron Baby Blanket designed by Laurinda Reddig at ReCrochetions for Red Heart Yarns. I have to admit I was a bit intimidated to try the chevron and searched quite a few different patterns before finding this one.

The first thing I noticed is that after the chain the whole blanket is made in double crochet which is perfect when looking for something to work up and “grow” quickly.

I also loved that it wasn’t a full size afghan and all the math and counting were done for a smaller blanket. I grabbed my 5.5 (I-9 US) hook and Red Heart with Love in White, Pewter, and Peacock, which is absolutely beautiful, and got to work.

The pattern is well written with special directions for the DC3Tog. After the first two rows the Chevron pattern really starts to form. I was able to finish this baby blanket in just about a week in between taking the kiddos to school, dance, and basketball.

I’d say this pattern is fairly easy and can be completed by anyone that has mastered the DC. I am seriously in love with how beautiful this baby blanket came out and can’t wait to deliver it to a new nephew due in June. I might even have to make one for myself.

One of the favorite giant semi sleeper tractors (of all time, probably) is Tony Bennett’s old bright yellow one that was running for Southern Pride trucking. Owner-operators and truck drivers everywhere have appreciated this truck, and one of the interesting things about it is it was the longest factory-made truck.

Hello I’m Tim Smith. My uncle helped me purchased this truck 7 years to get started on farming. Since I have paid him back through the aid of this truck. We purchased it off the orginal owner for 5,000 and only had 630,000 original miles.

This truck has been my only source of hauling my grain to the elevator, hauling our excavating equipment, and farm equipment. Never had let me down yet only thing ever done to it was normal every day maintenance. Truck has 879,000 miles on it to this day.

Has a cummins 400 big cam with a fuller 13 speed. Sitting on 11r 24.5 tires. All alco alluminum rims no hidden steel wheels behind either. Has every option for the year available in it.

I started restoring it in October of 2015 finshed in May of 2016. I completely stripped all paint off to bare alluminum primered 3 coats wet sanded and 4 coats of paint and 3 coats of clear coat. Reploished all rims myself by hand and it sure was a work out but I wanted to be the one to said I did it all myself.

I am a 3rd generation farmer and my son’s name on the passenger door will be a forth. He’s 3yrs old and already is wanting this truck to be his and I plan on it. With that being said no it’s not for sale. I know it’s not perfect but I know there are other cabover lovers out there thought I should share.

These three guys do RVing in style. What do you think of these?

When you think of a truck and fifth wheel trailer combo, you usually think of someone’s (your own if you have a fifth wheel trailer) truck. But who hasn’t at least considered hooking one up to a big tractor like these units?

It’s almost like it’s the 5th wheel version of the toterhome (a motorhome built on a big tractor like this to pull it). As we’ve gone along with you truckers and RVers out there and found a lot of interesting big vehicles of all types, this is one of the rarer combos.

That doesn’t mean it doesn’t deserve a spot though. These 5th wheel combos don’t all have all that much information available out there for them. The white (and pretty long) conventional there pulling a long fifth wheel with the racing decals/paint was seen in California. It belongs to a fellow named Mark Tarascou. It showed up at the “Truckin’ For Kids Truck Show there, and eSPeeScotty caught the tractor / fifth wheel trailer rolling.

Then there’s the mack classic, all polished up and highly custoized, and pulling a pretty large fifth wheel of its own. The look is a bit incongruous — the modern but fairly plain trailer attached to the very showy custom Mack truck.

And finally, another classic tractor-trailer: this gold-ish Kenworth. Not only is the tractor itself customized, but that fifth wheel trailer — with multiple slide outs no less — is not only customized but is customized to match the tractor. It was spotted years ago by the “Retirement tips blogger” who seems to have stopped blogging in around 2010. Thanks for sharing this particular photo with us all though!

What do you think of these set-ups where they use a big tractor and tow a fifth wheel trailer, but then they also park a small vehicle on the bed of the tractor? I’ve seen them load little Isuzu’s and smart cars on the bed mostly. Of course, you could also add an ATV to your RV trailer / semi set up this way, too, and tow a toyhauler.

Now, having this kind of luxury RV set up is one thing. Being able to pull it off without having any kind of incident is another. You don’t want to damage your trailer, and you don’t want to damage your small commuter either.

So that means that a narrower car is better — at least for keeping from making dents.

And truckers out there, and RV owners who have experience with turning large fifth wheel trailers might be wondering about jacknifing with this set up — probably the single most important consideration with this.

Well, we found a company called RV Haulers who showed that it can be done with a small smart car like theirs.

They got two RV owners to let them use their tractor – fifth wheel trailer rigs to demonstrate a jackknife with their largest 5th wheelers while also loaded up with one of their small smart cars on their platform, called the RVHauler. The company specializes in building heavy duty trucks that can safely tow a huge, heavy fifth wheel trailer and have space on the deck for a car. Turning as sharp as the truck will go, the trailer doesn’t touch the car.

And for those of you wondering how they put the smart car onto the heavy duty haulers: They usually use a set of metal ramps to drive up onto the platform. (But there are also fancy electronic lifters that can be added as a tractor modification). To visit RVHaulers, (click here).

This big RV motorhome came up for sale recently. I hadn’t seen one like it before, so I though I’d share it with you all. It’s called a “Cobra Toterhome.” It’s a 2003 Cobra, and the seller was in Michigan when it was up for sale a couple months ago.

That chassis for the toterhome is, as you can probably tell from the photo above, a Kenworth T800 tandem axle. The RV is powered by a Caterpillar engine (3406B). 425 horsepower there.

It has a bunch of driving features, like back-up camera, cruise, tow hitch, electric brake control.

It has a 9 foot garage to it, 12 volt electric winch slide out, big generator (Onan), And inside, residential cabinetry, Fold Down Dinette Leather Sleeper Sofa, 7’8 x 8′ Bathroom with Corner Shower, 13 inch Flat Screen TV in Bedroom, Entertainment Center in the Main Cabin, Direct TV Dish and Receiver, 26 inch Flat Screen TV, and a Stereo System complete with DVD player, and a bunch of other features.

They were asking $115,000 for this one about 3 months ago. I’ve seen some of its ads taken down so I think it might have sold. If anyone really needs to find the RV owner though, just let me know and I’ll track down the contact info.
