Guess how rare an albino tortoise is? NOT RARE!!! At least relative to other animals, they are not extremely rare. They survive pretty well too, because like other turtles they have what protects them from predators: their tough shells. Albinism doesn’t seem to cause the degree of problems for turtles that it does for other animals, too.
They’re bred in captivity.

Think you might like to get a baby tortoise. Guess how long they live?
150 years. What’s the longest you could care for a pet? Not only that — guess how heavy they are? Over 200 pounds, some of them.
Rainwater collection and storage needs to be done in every part of the world and not just in areas where there is critical water scarcity. Storing water can also add savings to your monthly bills.
Of course, there are several available ready-made storage systems for water. Some are customized too but definitely you can create your own as it is simple and easy. Once you have a good storage system, you will need to maintain it to ensure no leaks can waste water. If you need to use to through winter then you will also need to stop it form freezing. You can check out tech icy for help with that.
Exposed Rain-Fed Pools
Maximize your large yard by keeping a rain-fed pool. This project will entail a little effort. You need to hire someone to dig up the ground and determine the dimensions for the pool.
Alternatively, you may create an elevated edge all over the pond or use rocks to form the sides. Your down tubes from rain troughs can be stretched to the pool through underground piping.
What makes rain-fed pools advantageous is that it has a nearly unrestricted storage volume, lesser cost, and aesthetics. Imagine if you have a 6 feet by 4 feet pool with around 2 feet depth, it can stock over three hundred gallons. By excavating it deeper by another foot will multiple the volumes. Another advantage of this is for an easy plant watering system for your garden plus you can also use it for washing your cars.
Though there a few advantages of this, growth of algae cannot be avoided and definitely mosquitoes breed on stagnant water. So you can cover with a big plastic to protect it but you will be sacrificing its aesthetics.
Trash Bins
You make use of extra-large trash bins as it can be altered into rain water storage. Cutting a large hole of the trash bin’s lid and a small hole towards the bottom, you can now be ready to have your water storage system.
You can create an inlet and outlet to the holes. Have the hose raised up by setting it to the top of the bin with a fastener. By lowering the hose, you can draw water. Once the bin is filled with rain water, you can use another bin to catch rain water.
Wooden Rain Barrel
Get rid of plastic containers and utilize a water-resistant, sanitary wooden rain barrels. If you have a problem with the use of plastics, clean, waterproof, wooden barrels can take the place of plastic barrels. Perpendicular barrels typically come with an opening at the bottom area or sometimes a small tap is readily attached but it is better to change it with a bigger one to have an increase of water flow. A recommended way to keep them portable is to have them wheeled.
Important things to bear in mind for DIY water storage system:
1.Each water storage system must be periodically cleaned out.
2.In order to eliminate mosquitoes from propagation in water storages, use a mesh to cover openings.
3.Dry and air the barrels by emptying them occasionally.
College senior Sarah Hastings is building a DIY fifth wheel in an attempt to get two birds with one project: have her own home, and have financial freedom.
Hastings is a senior at Mount Holyoke College where she studies architecture as her major. She desinged the tiny house on wheels in her sophomore year. It was a timber-frame design.
She’s building it now behind a garage at the school. Mobile tiny houses are often built on 8 foot wide trailers about 20 feet long. Hasting’s design is larger. It’s 200 square feet.
It sits on a 5th wheel trailer with a gooseneck hitch, which has safety advantages over a bumper hitch.
Hastings hasn’t yet decided on a vehicle to move her project around. She said she was looking for some land around Amherst and the surrounding area where she might reside.
Dark areas are really terrifying, especially for kids. They sometimes feel ghosts and other unknown spirits are around them on a very dark night. To make them feel secure and protected, a lamp shade is useful but it is more fun to create fairy glow jars. It’s not just useful to reduce their fear but it’s can also make their bedroom fine-looking with shining jars!
Just bear in mind to take precaution of glow sticks are they are poisonous and will bring danger to your kids. It’s better to make glow jars when they are not around as they would be really excited to play with these glow sticks.
There are only 3 materials that you need for this DIY creative project.
Look for nice jars, a set of glow sticks and glitters. If you can find different shapes and sizes for the jars, then your project will look better.
Here is the instruction on how to do it.
1. Take your paint brush and use your glow sticks to color your jar. (use different colors for your 1 or 2 jars and for the other jars, you may use only one color to create a mono-colored jar, bright green for one jar, yellow for one jar and bright pink for one jar)
2. Dry the glow sticks.
3. Put glitters on the lid of the jars to create more shimmering effect.
These DIY glowing jars are perfect for your cute girls and boys’ room. Adults too can enjoy them with a grown up version.
Use a highlighter liquid and plastic flowers, plants and animals. Create a miniature garden by arranging plastic flowers, plants and animals in your jars to suit grown up.
Allow the water and your chosen colored highlighters sit overnight. Pour some glitters to create a more shimmering effect. Shake your jars well.
These glowing jars are really fantastic and they are not just beautiful decorations for your room, they are very useful in creating a fearless atmosphere with their glow and exquisiteness. Variety of shapes and sizes of jars will add more creativity in your project.
We all like wood. Wood paneling, wood floors, wood furnishings. But wood exterior? One an RV? Why not? That’s what this Cody, Wyoming-spotted RV has: wooden plank siding. It also has a wood porch and a wood stove chimney.
This character-full RV has more than just wood siding. It has steer horns above the front windows, and an AC unit mounted right above the horns.
The porch looks like a great place to hang out sometimes, doesn’t it?
A greenhouse in your RV? I guess it might be possible. This photo shows a trailer that has accordian-like sides. They fold down. This thing must be great for warmth! It has blinds as well that sit over the transparent windscreens. This would definitely increase your square-footage without adding too much weight.
Not much is known about this unit! It was posted by a flickr user named laughingmonk. If you know more about it, share it with us. This is a very interesting creation and spreads into areas new to the minds of most RV owners, I would think. Or even any guesses what this is all about. Let us know.
In the words of laughingmonk, “Maybe this is the latest wave for RVing gardners.”
Health Risks of Sugar are Worse Than Tobacco
Yes, the tasty white crystal we’ve been wearing our teeth away with since the late 16th century (in Europe, and note that rich people were able to rot their teeth for a few hundred years before that).
Recently, a report on diet said it was more important to focus on sugar than cholesterol.
According to scientists at the U of California, its also worst than tobacco.
Added sugars are in around 20 percent of American food. Sweet stuff has trippled in 50 years.
Guess how much soda the average person drinks per year in the States? Over 50 gallons.
Sugar’s a lot like tobacco when it comes to addictive qualities.
It effects our bodies in a lot of negative ways, too — not just tooth rot. Obesity and a host of health issues are tied to sugar. You probably know how you feel after eating a significant amount of sugar at once.
In recent decades, obstacles to people indulging in tobacco smoking have gone up. Why? Proof that tobacco smoke causes lung cancer and other health issues, with some guiding smokers to start vaping instead offering it as a “healthier” alternative such as Juul Pods (that are so prevalent in high schools around the USA at the moment) over cigarettes.
Sugar has been linked to diabetes type 2. One of the obstacles to “proving” sugar causes diabetes type 2, though, is that there hasn’t been established a way to measure how much sugar is eaten.
Best Superfoods for Weight Loss
It’s no secret that bananas are healthy. They’re also one of the more inexpensive fruit in North American produce sections. They’re also easy to fit into our meals, since they can go with so many other foods. They also have sugar, though, so don’t eat many of them.
Here’s some other weight loss foods:
Oranges, which have sugar, so you have to use the sugar up or it will turn to fat. But, they have low calories and they have fiber to regulate your blood sugar levels. Eat in moderation if weight loss is your goal.
Oats, fiber boosts metabolism. You’ll feel fuller longer. They also have antioxidants and other minerals that will help with health.
Spices, which help make food tasty and interesting while keeping your meals healthy. Ie, you don’t need as much sugar and salt and other unhealthy flavor-adders.
Sweet potatoes, which have fewer calories than regular potatoes, and less calories so you can stay satisfied.
Apples, which reduce cravings for sweet things. They’re low in salt, fat and calories, and have fiber, which helps you feel full.
Some other foods to eat for weight loss: nuts, quinoa, beans, egg whites, grapefruit, chicken breast, pears, pine nuts, mushrooms, lentils, hot peppers, broccoli, organic lean meats, cantaloupe, spinach, green tea, avocado, asparagus, salmon, peanut butter, organic raw apple cider vinegar, olive oil, Greek yogurt, turkey breast, blueberries, and flax seeds.
“If ever there’s a strong reminder to be sure you’re fully rested when driving the rig, here it is: Imagine nodding off behind the wheel, and suddenly waking up to find this RV in the lane immediately in front of you,” writes RV Travel about this outstanding paintjob. The whole rig is painted except for the licence plate and center window.
This looks alot like Skateboard artist Jimbo Phillips’ work, right? Apparently, according to at least one commenter, it is a “stolen” design. Do you count using designs you like and reusing them as stealing?

A square on wheels? Are you a fan of this type of simplicity? Would you like to see something like this built on an assembly line? It looks a little like a square lego block on lego wheels, doesn’t it? Sort of like a tiny home on a go-cart chassis? Sort of like the squareness of a Range Rover.
I guess in one sense this is sort of the essence of an RV. A room with a steering wheel on top of a motor and some wheels. Where is the motor, by the way?
