This big luxury motorcoach is another one by those Phoenix custom conversion guys, Renagade. We did a write up about their Freightliner Cascadia model one. Now this one is the Freightliner Coronado chassis model.
That picture above shows you the profile of this luxury RV, and you can see there are two slides on the passenger side, in addition to that long awning and the custom theme paint job.

This chassis, the Freightliner Coronado, has a 515 Detroit Diesel Engine with a Fuller UltraShift transmission (automatic). You see the two slides in the photo, but there are two more on the other side, so 4 total slide outs.
The interior has a lot of wood cabinetry, all solid cherry. It also has 2 large flatscreen TVs, one in the bedroom and one in the salon. The counters are all solid surface.
It also has satellite, Motosat, entertainment center, washer / dryer, garbage disposal, and a dishwasher. The seats are white or off-white leather. There’s a composite photo montage at the bottom (view on a large screen for best viewability).
A pie store in Pinewood Springs, Colorado had a great story to share with customers about how a gluttonous bear feasted on their pies one Monday night. According to Lehnert, the owner of the pie shop, the bear enjoyed the 24 cherry pies and 14 apple pies but did not touch any of the strawberry rhubarb pies.
If the fridge was not locked, the bear might have eaten all other sugary foodstuff inside.
In fact, bears just eat anything that they can grab, they are not that picky but this bear passed on strawberry-rhubarb pies.
Really, this is a very interesting incident that happened in a pie shop!
“Every time we’re forced to destroy a bear, it’s not just the bear that loses,” the Colorado Parks and Wildlife department explains on its site. “We all lose a little piece of the wildness that makes Colorado so special. So please, get the information you need, and share it with your friends, neighbors, and community.”
This photo was sent to At Sail by a fellow named Ashraf A. Ismail. It’s a photo of felucas, a small boat that uses sails or oars or both and is now mostly seen on the Nile River in Egypt, as well as in Sudan’s part of the Nile, and in the Red Sea, bordered by Saudi Arabia, Yemen, Sudan, Eritrea, Djibouti, and Somalia. In former days, felucas were more common in the Mediterranean region.
They also use felucas in Iraq. The sails look heavy in Mr Ismail’s photo, which gives them in my eye a certain elegance, like the tired hot day in the picture.
This luxury motorhome is the Ikon, made by Renegade, and it’s already gotten a bit of a name for itself since coming out with its new model version a couple of years ago.
This is an upscale motorcoach and it has all the luxury RV features you find in bus conversions, then combined with the power and machinery of a semi tractor.
The tractor base in this case is the Freightliner. The Cascadia model chassis. It has a 560 horsepower engine and an Allison transmission. On that, the custom motorhome company starts to work. It’s a 45 foot vehicle. In this case, it has 4 slides (a quad-slide motorcoach).
It also has heated granite floors for the whole unit, solid wood cabinetry and things with high-gloss cherry finish, hydronic heating system, and a bath and a half.
These motorhomes are made custom, and so you will see a lot of variety in the interiors. So I got two luxury RV interior photos to show you the range of what people do (view them on a large screen for best viewing).
These things sell new for over half a million dollars (the one in the picture above retailed new for $640,000). But you can actually find some deals and a very wide range of prices on RV and motorhome sales sites and things like that.

This customized luxury bus was reportedly inspired in design by the American Air Force One presidential jet. In addition to the tough exterior, it’s got a luxury interior — an office, a lounge, sofas, slide-out-stools, two large-screen TVs.
Not only is the interior luxury, the exterior is reportely bullet-proof. Apparently, the owner was worried about attacks when he asked for this RV motorhome design.
This bus belongs to an Indian fellow named Sanjay Dutt. He went on a political tour, according to reports, and this bus was designed for the purpose. It took around 9 months to complete the custom modification.
It is reported to have cost “3 crore rupees” which means around $360,000.
What do you think of this style? Does the outside remind you of Air Force One? and do you like this interior style? quite different from the more wood-y, cabin-like style most custom RV buyers often go for.
This luxury show hauler caught our eye, it’s a 46 foot garage hauler. The garage in the back of the unit is a 9.5 foot one. Anyway, this truck’s a “Show Hauler,” that is, built by the conversion specialists called Show Hauler.
The truck pictured above is a 2007 Volvo (chassis). It’s got a 460 horsepower engine and a 12 speed smart shift transmission (that is, auto/ manual transmission).
It had 27,000 miles on it when it came up for sale, and was pretty well loaded. You can see the custom paint scheme with a silverish main color. It also has a living room “superslide” and a bedroom slide, pictured above.
It got ceiling upgrades so it’s 6 inches taller than standard. It has a good power system and entertainment systems.
It also has a 40,000 pound hitch, thermal dual pane windows, a couple awnings (electric), 2 air conditioners, a large shower, cherry stained cabinetry, leather furniture, two flat screens, propane tank, refrigerator (outside on the slide). The seller was asking $180,000 for this when it came up. Too bad he didn’t include any interior shots, but after some research I found some other custom Show Haulers. The company does the interiors custom, so you can get what you want, and you probably might not be getting this specific one anyway, so to give an idea of the kind of work done in these luxury motor homes, this photo shows some of Show Hauler’s interior work (view on a large screen for best viewing — it’s a large photo). Have any of you guys looked into these diesel pushers, these giant luxury RV motorhomes that have pretty much every amenity and feature people have thought of.
This one’s a Country Coach “Veranda,” which came up for sale on Motor Home Specialist. It’s a 2009, and some of the main things to know about it are it has a pretty fitted out bath / shower, and also has 4 slides. Yes, 4. Since 2 slides in the same part of the vehicle basically double the interior space, this 44 foot diesel pusher would be pretty big inside.
As you can see in the photo above, it also has a pretty big patio that slides out, with an awning, and it looks like 2 TVs — one inside and one outside, although maybe that’s just a reflection in a window pane or something.
This one is just an example. I’ll find some more current models as well, if you guys are interested. This one sold, not sure what the accepted price was. It was offered at $200,000 on Motor Home Specialist.
Some features I noticed for this one: 500 horsepower Cummins engine, Allison 6-speed transmission, total miles at the time of under 17,000, raised rail chassis by Dynamax, automatic air levelling system, 15,000 pound hitch, all hardwood cabinets on the luxury interior of this RV, lots of home entertainment features like CD, DVD players, TV, and good power system for it all. Lots of decorative features, too, like for the kitchen and bathroom.

These big luxury RV motorhomes and tractor-trailers are from France, which is why you probably haven’t seen pictures of them before. There’s a fleet of them. As you can see there’s the Kenworth T2000 in the picture up above pulling not one but two trailers with awnings, windows and all matching paint and decoration. They also have two others.
One of the others is a Kenworth as well — a W900. The other one is a Scania T500 V8. It might be a bit of a surprise that these are all registered in Frane. Europe uses a lot of cabovers from what I understand because of their length limits. These are all conventionals, and two are American (Scania is a Swedish make).
These luxury RVs were built by Cardron, a French horsetrailer company. They do Prevost-style box RVs and smaller van-like trucks as well. In France, they call these types of vehicles “camping cars.” Actually they do their vehicles with a bit of a camper-like look so it’s somewhat fitting.
These three blue RVs, though, actually belong to a circus, which is common with fleets of this type of vehicle. So the owners definitely spend part of the years in their vehicles.
For the image at the top, probably the most appealing of the fleet, the T2000, I learned a bit: It has slides and the front part of the trailer is converted into a laundry room. I guess that’s necessary when you have a fleet and you use it for work. The second (rear) trailer on that truck is a garage for a car (in this case, a Mercedes). Looks like they harmonized the three parts of the tractor-trailers pretty well. What do you think?
