Dinner is the perfect time to eat with your family. After a stressful time at work and tiring day in school, it’s time to have a break. Everybody is so eager to go home and look for a homemade recipe prepared for them. Here is one recipe that will surely be loved by everyone; a dinner roll. Dinner rolls can be dessert or can also be a plain meal for those who want light meal for dinner. It is also a healthy and nutritious food since it is made up of flour, water and sugar. Kids will certainly love this; just make sure that the presentation of cookies are attractive and appealing to their appetite.
Ingredients:
¼ cup of warm water
1 cup of milk
1 packet of dry active yeast
1 tablespoon of honey
1 tablespoon of sugar
3 tablespoons of unsalted butter (in room temperature)
1 teaspoon of vegetable oil
3 cups of all-purpose flour
Place the warm water and yeast in a large bowl and whisk. Set aside. In another bowl, pour honey, milk, sugar, salt and honey and microwave for around 60 seconds. Set aside.
Add flour and milk to the first bowl, stir until dough forms, and then knead the dough, adding enough flour to make the dough elastic and smooth.
Let the dough sit in a bowl that has been greased with oil, covered under a towel for around an hour and a half.
Next, punch the dough down and form it into a rough rectangle. There should be enough to cut into 16 equal dinner roll sized squares. Roll the squares into balls.
Line a banking sheet and arrange your rounded balls on it. They can touch.
Dust your waiting bread rolls with flour and set somewhere slightly warm for around 40 minutes.
Preheat your oven to 350F. Bake your tray for 25 minutes. The rolls will turn golden brown (not dark brown).
Cooling will take around 20 miutes.
Often served with soup and butter.
