Ok, this is some news about extract from grape seed. Some people say this is baloney and pseudoscience, some say their natural health practitioners use it. Want to weigh in? Does anyone have any evidence?
According to Buy Non GMO Seeds (a website), the extract is “showing amazing results.” They say it can target and even stop the most virulent cancer cells. “The more aggressive… the more potent” the seeds are as a treatment.
They cite a study published in Cancer Letters. The researcher was doctoral candidate Molly Derry.
She found that, “It required less than half the concentration of GSE to suppress cell growth and kill 50 percent of stage IV cells than it did to achieve similar results in the stage II cells. We’ve known for quite a while that the bioactive compounds in grape seed extract selectively target many types of cancer cells. This study shows that many of the same mutations that allow colorectal cancer cells to metastasize and survive traditional therapies make them especially sensitive to treatment with GSE.”
