The MAN company, by request of the Fulda company, made the concept truck you see here. Which, for many years has attracted the attention of visitors at different shows and events. And yes, you probably noted that this is another giant truck made by MAN, that company on the UK’s Isle of Man.
As a result of the cooperation between the two trucking companies, this quite efficient transport unit was received, which passed TUF and has certification and registration in traffic police in Europe.
The truck tractor, made of experimental and mass-production MAN components, has significantly efficient aerodynamics, it is reported, due to the fact that the cabin has a sloped windshield, rounded front panels and a fully closed chassis.
The huge cabin is divided into three parts: a comfortable working area, spacious living compartment (internal volume in 2.5 times bigger than many of today’s trucks) and the impressive size engine place, where an economical 12.8-liter engine and automatic transmission are placed.
Both sides of the cabin have a large sliding door with electronic lock with electronic handles, working together with central locking. The floor inside the cabin is absolutely flat, and the height from floor to ceiling reaches 2 meters (6.56 feet). Low-lying passive spoiler, part of the continuum shell under the bottom, prevents turbulence under the truck. Huge mirrors are electric drive and heated. Together, headlights with fog lights are installed in vertical racks on the sides of a large air intake cooling system. The base of the truck is standard for 3-axle trucks, but its overall length nearly 2 meters due to a large front nose, where the radiator and almost all of the 460-hp engine is installed. The 3-axle trailer has a modern design with an independent suspension and sliding frame. Inside, there is an office or showroom. The tractor and trailer are painted in a radical black color.
So, this large luxury RV (for public recreation on this one!) tractor-trailer at a show when someone sees it: they usually don’t forget it. Interesting work by MAN and Fulda trucking on this unique truck.
