If you live in a desert or other out-of-the-way location, you may know that in order to build in your location.
That’s one of the benefits of steel home construction. Some of these are factory modules, some custom. Of course, you can have just about anything built. There are a lot of metal building packages available to you on the market today which can make your construction aspirations a reality.
So how does it cut down on costs in out-of-the-way places? The galvanized steel parts of the metal building are readied at a factory. Then they’re shipped out to the site where you’ll be building your new house. They ship flat and can be assembled pretty quick. The exterior frame for a small house takes only a day, and then the full cladding system takes about a week or less. Having a new home construction can take some manpower to get it together, but it is worth it to have the build that you want and suits you.
That puts you inside working on the weather-proof interior in days.
The metal that’s used in a steel home is cold-formed, light gauge, and largely recycled. Really, its pretty much 100 percent recyclable building material.
Ecologically, it has a light footprint on site, too. So even on variegated terrain, it intrudes less on the life taking place around.
Light also is the task of repairing or changing the structure — relatively. The frame-and-cladding system that is the structure of a metal house has pieces that can be replaced easily, or added onto. The metal structure doesn’t depend on the walls to bear the load, so making additions and renovations is easier.
Plus, of course, you can take the house down and put it up again somewhere else. That, combined with the long life of metal materials — compared with wood — means that metal houses have a decent comparable home resale value.
