Classic Cabover

How about this classic cabover, which I think belongs to either Steve Hendershot or Morrice Lawson.

For all of you out there automatically thinking this truck looks like the movie BJ and the Bear’s, well, it might, but actually this truck paint scheme was quite popular with owner-operators and drivers in the day — red and white being just one color option — but the style of this COE won’t be denied by too many I think.

Another thing you might not deny: buffing this semi truck would take some work!

It’s a K100 with a small sleeper unit. I can’t make out the company name on it. Does anyone know it? I think it might be in Australia, from some other photos of a BJ and the Bear-style tractor trailer I’ve seen here and there. Has anyone seen a motorhome (or toterhome) made out of one of these classic COE’s? That would make an interesting classic RV.

We actually have one we’ve seen: the gold and brown Kenworth cabover /motor home.

UPDATE: After posting this, the truck was identified as Hendershot’s “Buck & Hailey” memorial truck by John Leist Nate Banta and confirmed by Jeremy Christie. Thanks, guys.

We’re going to update this write up again after some people comment on this truck, so if you’re curious about it too, check back and see what everybody adds to it.
