As you probably know already, we like when people send us articles about their vehicles (or even just about a vehicle they really admire and want to write a write up about).

This isn’t that hard to do — write an write up, I mean. You may have read some of the ones we’ve already published. A conversational style of writing is just fine for these write ups — no special advanced grammar or special writing style is required. If you can read the article yourself and it seems interesting, it should be OK.

Some things to know:
– We like articles that are at least 250 words. 300–500 words is an ideal length. We’re just fine with longer articles, though. We can’t publish articles that are only a paragraph or two long, for the most part.
– You can easily get an article together by putting in three things: 1) a photo or some photos (try to get a decent quality photo that looks good when the width is longer than the height, like an envelope), 2) some vehicle specs, and 3) some of the story of the vehicle, or something interesting about it or around it.

To submit an article, you can send it as a message either though Facebook or email (either is fine).

If you use email ([email protected]), you need to make sure the text isn’t “rich text.” You can make sure by copying your text, then right-clicking in your email and selecting “paste as plain text.” It’s that “plain text” that will do it right. Then, make sure your paragraphs are all OK and not broken, and run a spell check on it.

Also, when you email it make your subject line (the title of the email): [ARTICLE SUBMISSION: The Title Of Your Article]

If you use Facebook, you can do the same thing: just paste your article into the message box and make sure you have spaces between your paragraphs (put your cursor where you want it, hold down the “shift” key and press “enter” at the same time.

You can drag and drop your images into either email or Facebook messages.

FURTHER NOTE FOR PEOPLE WHO WANT TO WRITE REGULARLY: Yes, we do pay people for the articles we publish. Even if you just write one article, we’ll pay you $5 (Canadian) for it, but we won’t be keeping track of these articles — we only keep track of the articles by people who write a lot, so if you wrote 1 or 2 articles for us and you want to be paid, just contact us however you did the first time we communicated and say what article you wrote, include the permalink (copy and paste the link address to your article), and your PayPal email, and we will get to it and send you the money, no problem.

And yes, we are looking for regular writers. If you want the gig, we will begin to work with you after you’ve written 3 articles for us we’ve published (less than that, and we’re not sure you’re really going to be interested in the gig enough for us to really invest in you as a writer — nothing personal, just we’ve had a lot of writers who’ve said they want the gig but then only wrote an article or two [by the way, though, that’s just fine with us and we think its great they participated in what we’re doing]). So, if you’ve written 3 articles we’ve published, contact us the way you normally do and say you wrote 3 articles (and include the links to them) and ask us anything you want.

For regular writers, the first 3 articles are paid $5 (Canadian) each. Then we’ll look at what kind of writing you want to do. We look at people who participate on this site based on how much they do. If we start to see that you’re doing a lot, we’re going to compensate you at a higher level.
