Can Split Ends Be Fixed Without Cutting? FACTS
The simple answer: No.
Once a split end starts, you have to deal with it.
Some rules to remember:
Heat on your hair makes it split. Dryness makes it split. Chemicals can make it split (hair product as well as procedures). Wind/cold can make it split. Overwashing can make it split (constant hot/cold/wet/dry/combing/teasing/stressing). Overwashing can make it split (strip oils from hair, which are supposed to protect your hair). Certain types of water can do it, too, like hard shower water, ocean salt water, spas and pools with chlorine or salt. The sun, too, with UV rays.
How to treat your hair to not have split ends (as much):
Use a moisturizing shampoo. Use a good rinse out conditioner and slather the ends (not just the scalp). Do a cool to cold rinse after to seal the ends. Towel blot your hair. You can use leave in conditioner. Use a wide-tooth comb to detangle. You can use restoration serum, particularly on the ends. Use a large paddle or round brush when blow drying. Don’t use too much heat.
So basically you need to take care of your hair, not stress it or expose it to too much environment, and trim the ends when they start.
